Privacy Policy
Effective: September 13, 2026
BuilderStudy is operated by BuilderStudy. We help residents understand community experiences through researched community profiles and homeowner contributions. Contact hello@builderstudy.com with privacy or account questions.
Information we collect and why
We collect the account information you provide, including your email and profile details, to authenticate you and manage your account. We collect the communities you follow, survey answers and drafts, contribution choices, and optional property context or evidence to save your work, associate it with the right community, review contributions and calculate community intelligence. Optional questions may be skipped unless a field is marked required.
We record relevant service activity, such as community views, survey starts and completions, notification interactions and technical errors, to understand beta usage and diagnose problems. Hosting and authentication providers may process technical connection information, such as IP addresses and browser information, when operating the service. We use session storage and similar technology to maintain login and supported application state.
Please do not submit passwords, government identification, financial account information, complete property documents or another person's private information. Provide only the evidence needed for the question at hand.
What others can see
Published community pages and maps contain community-level information, sources and qualifying aggregate results. Locations on the map represent approximate communities, not your submitted home address. Public pages do not intentionally display account emails, private property details, evidence uploads or individual survey answers. Authorized internal reviewers can access private information needed to administer the service and review contributions. Your own dashboard may show your contribution before it qualifies for public results.
Small samples can be identifying, so publication uses minimum sample thresholds. Those thresholds reduce risk; they do not make every possible inference impossible. Following a community is not proof that a person lives there.
Service providers and disclosures
We use Supabase for application data, authentication and protected storage, and Lovable for hosting and application operation. When you use the map, your browser requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap infrastructure; that provider receives the connection information needed to serve those tiles. Our limited operational measurements help evaluate and support the beta.
Optional CRM synchronization, marketing email/SMS and reminder campaigns are disabled for the initial beta. Essential authentication messages, including verification and password recovery, are separate. Existing historical CRM or research spreadsheet records are not automatically erased by this rollout; public-source community research may be deliberately imported with provenance. The research spreadsheet is not a copy of homeowner survey answers.
We do not sell homeowner personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising during this beta. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to meet legal obligations, investigate abuse or protect users and the service. Before a materially different use begins, we will update this notice and obtain any required permission.
Retention and requests
We keep account and contribution information while needed to provide the service, maintain reliable community results, handle requests and investigate abuse. We review unnecessary beta data at least quarterly. Retention is based on these purposes, legal obligations and backup cycles; it is not unlimited by default.
Email hello@builderstudy.com to request access, correction, withdrawal or deletion. Describe the request and the account email; do not send your password or identity documents. We may verify account control before disclosing or changing private data. We will explain any information that must be retained and handle applicable rights within required legal time limits. We do not promise an unimplemented automatic deletion feature.
Where an identified contribution is withdrawn from published intelligence, we will recalculate affected results through our review process. Copies in restricted backups may remain until those backups expire; we will not deliberately restore withdrawn information to active use without applying the recorded request. Public information copied independently by others may remain outside our control.
Beta eligibility and changes
The initial beta is intended for invited US residents aged 18 or older. Do not create an account or submit personal information if you are under 18. Contact us if information about a child was submitted. We will identify material changes to this policy and display the revised effective date. This notice does not limit rights that applicable law gives you.
