BuilderStudy is operated by BuilderStudy. These terms govern participation in our free, limited beta. Contact hello@builderstudy.com for help, corrections or questions about these terms.

Participation and accounts

The initial beta is for owner-invited US participants aged 18 or older. Invitations do not by themselves verify residence or ownership. Give accurate account information, protect your login, and contact us if someone else may have accessed your account. Do not share an invitation publicly or create multiple accounts to influence results. This beta does not enroll you in a paid subscription.

Contributions

Describe your own experience honestly. Separate facts from opinion and identify uncertainty. Submit only information you are entitled to provide. Do not impersonate another person, fabricate experiences, manipulate ratings, threaten others, post unlawful content or disclose unnecessary personal information. Negative experiences are welcome when submitted honestly and within these rules.

You retain ownership of your original contribution. You give BuilderStudy a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to store, review and process it to operate the service and produce community-level information consistent with your publication choices and the Privacy Policy. This permission does not authorize publication of your account email, private evidence or individual survey answers. A withdrawal request will be handled through the process described in the Privacy Policy; required security or legal records and expiring backups may be retained as explained there.

We may hold, reject or remove a contribution that fails review or these rules, correct factual directory information and recalculate results. A negative opinion alone is not grounds for rejection. Contact support to request a correction or review of a moderation decision.

Understanding community information

Results describe voluntary contributions, not a random or complete sample of residents. Different questions can have different sample counts. Preliminary scores can change substantially as more people contribute. Researched community profiles are not homeowner-verified unless specifically labeled. Approximate map positions, dated sources and documented minimum home counts should not be treated as exact current facts.

BuilderStudy does not guarantee construction quality, HOA performance, property value, safety or future results. Its information is not a home inspection, warranty, certification, or legal, financial or real-estate advice. Verify material facts independently before making property or other consequential decisions.

Service changes and acceptable use

Beta features may change or be temporarily unavailable. Do not bypass access controls, scrape private information, interfere with service operation or attempt unauthorized changes. Report suspected vulnerabilities privately to support. We may pause or suspend access to investigate abuse, protect data or address a service failure, and explain the reason where appropriate. You may stop using the service and request account closure.

The beta is provided on an available basis, without a promise of uninterrupted operation or accuracy. Nothing here excludes obligations or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver. We will show an updated effective date for revisions and provide appropriate notice of material changes before asking users to continue under them.
